God instructed me not to serve in Buhari’s government in its first two years - Pastor Bakare

The running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 general election, Pastor Tunde Bakare said God instructed him not to serve in the current Buhari led administration in its first two years.
The cleric said many of his church members were mounting pressure on him to serve in the current administration he however resisted saying ‘’it is best to follow God’s instruction in a bid to achieve peace’’.

“Are you not glad you serve a God who can say come up here and I would show you the things that would happen in the hereafter?” Bakare asked, as he revealed what God told him.
“Here we are today, almost two years into this administration. Many of you were putting pressure on me. Even a retired inspector general of police wrote to me, he said; Pastor, if you have only served in this government, maybe it would not be like this.
And I said to you, God said to me, don’t touch it for the first two years. Don’t go near it, just be praying for them and be watching, and be monitoring the things that are happening. God knows where you should go, when you should go, so stop going aimlessly about. As many as are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God.”

Act, Nigerians are hungry, Father Mbaka advises Buhari

The priest of the Catholic Adoration Ministry in Enugu State has advised President Muhammadu Buhari on leadership in the New Year. Ejike Mbaka gave the advice in Enugu on Saturday in his New Year message at the cross over service to 2017.
He advised the President to tackle the challenges facing the country, saying “many Nigerians are suffering. “Though the President is trying on corruption and security, Nigerians are hungry; they want to see more changes.

There is the need to assist businessmen and women in their businesses,” he said. He also advised the President to appoint experts who would help him to revive the economy.
The cleric asked the President to consult Church leaders and eminent men of God to advise him and tell him the truth about the economy. “We cannot reach him for advice because of the kind of people around him,” he added.
He then urged Nigerians to be patient and be prayerful “as your sufferings and hardships would be over in 2017. Nigeria is set to be great again,” he stressed.

Man arrested for allegedly defiling an 11-yr-old girl in the bathroom

Ugochukwu Kingsley, 21, was arrested last November 28, by the police, in Oriwu along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos, for allegedly defiling his 11-year-old neighbor, following a complaint by the girl’s parents that he had had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
He was accused of entering the bathroom while she was taking her bath. The girl was said to have started bleeding after the act. But, before his arraignment, Kingsley said he had no sexual relations with the girl.

He said: “I didn’t force myself on her. I asked her, she was aware of everything. I didn’t sleep with her but I made an attempt. I didn’t know she was bleeding.” He was arraigned on December 5 before Chief Magistrate O. Oshoniyi on one-count of “unlawful sexual intercourse.”
It was learnt that Kingsley pleaded guilty to the charge. Mrs Oshoniyi ordered that the case file be transferred to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice. She remanded Kingsley in Kirikiri. The case was adjourned till January 26. Crdt: The Nation

We Gang raped only 9 women in Charity Bus Stop – Suspect

Sunday John, a 27 year old leader of a 4 man robbery gang and serial rapist, arrested at Charity Bus Stop by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, has confessed to have led 3 other members of his gang to rape nine women in the last two weeks.

The suspect, a bus conductor in Oshodi from Akwa Ibom was arrested in company of his two gang members. The names of his gang members are Saviour Daniel (23), Daniel Olayemi (18) and Abdulwahab Yusuph (17).
The operatives had on Tuesday evening arrested Olayemi, while fighting with another group of boys over a Samsung tablet in Oshodi. Olayemi had disclosed that he stole the tablet from a lady that was gang raped during one of their escapades in Charity Bus stop.
The revelation prompted the arrests of three other members of the gang. Olayemi revealed that in the last two weeks, the gang robbed 12 passersby and raped no fewer than nine ladies in the bush at Charity Bus Stop.

NDLEA discovers £3.8 million (N1.9 billion) cocaine inside shoes at the Abuja airport

The substance, weighing 9.15kg, was concealed inside soles of shoes and was discovered in a shipment of shoes during inward screening of passengers on a Turkish Airline flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

34-year-old motorcycle parts dealer, Okolo Emenike, who hails from Ezeagu, Enugu State, was arrested in connection with the drug. He said that he was offered the sum of one million naira to smuggle the drugs to Nigeria.

FG commences payment N5,000 monthly to 1 million poorest citizens

In a statement released, Monday, by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, the government stated that the payment was effected through the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, of the government’s Social Investment Programmes, SIP.

One million Nigerians would receive N5,000 monthly payments under the CCT as a form of social safety net for the poorest and most vulnerable as budgeted for in the 2016 Budget.
Akande added that many of the beneficiaries have already reported receiving their first payments in the first batch that commenced last week. “In the first batch that commenced last week, nine states would be covered.”
The statement listed Borno, Kwara, Bauchi, Cross Rivers, Niger, Kogi, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti states as states in the first batch to commence the CCT payment.
It however said that the states were selected because they had a social register that identified the vulnerable and poorest Nigerians. According to the statement, the FG, with the support of the World Bank, has adopted the Community Based Targeting (CBT) for developing the social register in the other states for transparency, objectivity and credibility.
Other states listed to have complied with the social register include Plateau, Jigawa, Adamawa, Anambra, Benue, Enugu, Katsina, Taraba, Delta, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Imo and Ogun States.
Akande said the N-Power Volunteer Corps designed to hire half a million unemployed graduates has now engaged 200,000, and the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme now runs in 3 states.
He said the FG has also kicked-off the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, GEEP. “Under GEEP, soft loans ranging from N10,000 to 100,000 have been designed for artisans, traders, market women among others.
Commenting on the 200,000 beneficiaries of the N-power programme, Akande said about 100,000 graduates have been physically verified and have started receiving their N30,000 stipends.
The FG reiterated its commitment to touching the lives of vulnerable Nigerians, in fulfilment of its Change agenda.

Drunk man caught naked with a mannequin in the middle of flea market

A man has been caught having sex with a shop mannequin in broad daylight. Onlookers were left stunned when the drunk man stripped off the doll and proceeded to have his way with it at a flea market in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
It is understood that the man had been drinking at a nearby hotel when he left to walk through the market. But it was when he saw the mannequin that things took a turn for the strange, with the man stripping the doll and himself before starting to make love to it.

The man’s bare bottom was left waving in the air as he made loud groaning noises – refusing to be embarrassed despite the shocked crowds gathering around. Many people stopped to laugh and take pictures of the amorous display.
Mbuso Moyo, one of the traders at the Egodini market, said the man was making loud groaning noises during the act. She said: “What amused us is that he was making movements as if he was having sex with a woman.
After reaching orgasm he stood up and threatened all the people who had gathered to watch him. The crowd dispersed when he started shouting but some women made comments about the size of his manhood.
