Some Nigerian Bishops under the banner of the Niger Delta Bishops and Ministers Forum (NDBMF), have warned Ms. Stephanie Otobo to retrace her steps from her allegations against Apostle Suleman or face the wrath of God.
The president of NDBMF, His Eminence, Dr. Julius Ediwe, who spoke to newsmen in Port Harcourt said the allegations of Ms. Otobo against Apostle Suleman is pure falsehood.
“We want to let Nigerians and the whole world know that this is propaganda. It is false. As spiritual fathers in the land, we will not be quiet and watch a young girl with whoever that is sp
onsoring her, spoil the name of a man of God.
A man of God who has single-handedly stood in defense of Christians in this country, Africa and the whole world. We cannot sit down and watch a young girl like that speak blasphemy of such a man of God. We are here to say it is an error.
As Niger Delta Bishops and Ministers Forum, we condemn the actions of the young girl and whoever that is sponsoring her. We want to advise them to leave Apostle Suleiman alone; allow him to do what God has sent him to do.
God called him to preach the gospel and we are enjoying the gospel and we love what he is doing. I want to let Nigerians know that Apostle Suleiman has made us, clergymen proud in this country.
Such a man is not somebody who that little girl should come up to rubbish. So, we are saying, please, if you love your life, run away from this evil paid for against the man of God.
If not, the wrath of God is coming upon you! We know that such allegation can come at any time to any man of God who preached the truth and has integrity. We want to urge Nigerians not to buy into what that young girl is saying.
Anybody that is following the girl should be careful, because they are incurring the wrath of God. Remember, the Bible said, touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.
God has not permitted anybody to speak such evil of any man of God. We are warning whoever is involved in this to be careful with men of God.”

Bill to prohibit tribal marks passes second reading
A Bill for an Act to provide for the Prohibition of Facial Mutilation, Offences, Prosecution and Punishment of Offenders on Tuesday passed second reading in the Senate.
The Bill is also for the Protection of victims under threat of facial mutilation and other related Matters. Sen. Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi), who sponsored the bill, said that there was no doubt that Africans of old used tribal marks as a means of proper identification.
Leading debate on the bill, Melaye said in those days, members of the same village, tribe or lineage had the same tribal marks. Melaye said that the hometown and lineage of a child or anyone with tribal marks were immediately identified, while outsiders who did not have such marks were also spotted.
He further explained that parents also used tribal marks to lay credence to the legitimacy of their children. However, the lawmaker said “all these reasons cannot be scientifically proven, and hence cannot enjoy the support for this harmful practice’’.
“The irony of these marks is that it makes victims subjects of mockery by friends. Imagine someone being called a tiger simply because of the thick cheeks resulting from facial marks.
These people have been subjected to different reactions. Some have lamented the marks that are bequeathed on them as generational inheritance. Many have cursed the day which this dastardly act was performed on them.
Many of the grown adults have confessed that the most terrific debacle of their lives is their tribal marks. Some have become eunuchs because of this stigma. Imagine a boy in the class of 25 pupils carrying a tribal mark. His mates will call him the boy with the railway line.
They are emblems of disfiguration. Some of them have developed low self-esteem and most times treated with scorn and ridicule including rejection by the female folks.
The reactions of people who interact with them say it dampens and lowers their spirit,’’ he said. Melaye stated that besides the health implication of the practice, it was an infringement on the rights of children, adding that every Nigerian child deserved the right to live.

Nigerian man sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually exploiting a S. African teenager
The High Court in Johannesburg has sentenced a man convicted of sexually exploiting a 15-year-old girl and forcing her into prostitution to an effective 20 years in prison.
Two weeks ago Eke Ogochukwu was found guilty of four charges relating to human trafficking. The teenager escaped in August 2015 and received help from a nearby church in Rosettenville. Judge Majake Mabesele says what the accused did was cruel.
“Clearly what happened to her was cruel, inhuman and degrading and was a violation of the right to human dignity, which is enshrined in our Constitution.” Ogochukwu, known to the girl only as Johnny, sexually abused her.
The court heard that he would drug her, force her to perform sexual acts with other men and take the money she made through prostitution. The young girl was given R50 a day for food and a further R100 for every man she was forced to sleep with.
The judge says Ogochukwu took advantage of the teenager as she was homeless after running away from her Vereeniging home in 2015 following a fight with her mother.

We only wanted to threaten him – Man who killed his boss over N63,000
On March 3, 2017, 20-year-old Precious Victor, a barman at King’s Bar located at Anifowose, Mushin area of Lagos, realised that he had had enough. He said he needed to get out of the job, but first, he had to force his boss, Mr. Tajudeen Oso, to give him some money.
“All I wanted to do was to threaten him a little, get N63,000 from him and run away,” he said. According to him, he realised he could not carry out the plan alone, so he enlisted the help of one of his friends, Kelechi, and another acquaintance, a customer named Ahmed.
But Victor said things went terribly wrong with their plan. By evening of that day, his boss, Oso, lay dead. The man had been stabbed twice in the stomach. He bled to death on the premises of his bar.
Victor said, “I live in an accommodation on the premises of the bar. Kelechi lives with me as well. I was actually introduced to my boss (the victim) by Kelechi’s boss. We discussed the plan and when Ahmed, whom I had known as a regular customer, came to the bar to drink on Friday, I also told him about the plan and he said he was interested.
The plan was only to threaten my boss, and tell him we needed N63,000. We had no intension of killing him. That day, I was hiding in the kitchen when Kelechi put our plan in motion. But something went wrong. He hit my boss in the head with a bottle.
When I heard noise, I came out. My boss then said, ‘Precious, you people want to kill me?’ I said no but he came towards me and bit me in the stomach. He was dragging me and would not let go.
Kelechi was dragging him so that he could free me but when he did not, Kelechi took a knife and stabbed him twice in the stomach.” The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, explained that they would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the case was concluded. But when I was arrested, I begged for the case to be settled out of court and compensated the woman with N100,000. The case was closed and I was not charged to court.”
Nwobilo’s recent arrest is a result of defrauding another victim of N800,000, which he has also confessed to. Asked what he intended to do now that he had been recaptured by SARS, he explained that he was willing to pay back any of his victims who showed up.
By his own admission, each time he was caught by the police, the case never got to court as he always found ways of getting himself off the hook. But when he landed in the net of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Abia State Police Command recently, he was made to chronicle his crime activities on camera.
Nwobilo explained that since 2006 when he had been actively involved in crime, he had raped up to 7 women. His gang operate by using tricycle riders to lure their victims.

Sex-starved teenager rapes chicken because he could not find a woman to go out with him
A sex-starved Kenyan sicko claimed he raped a chicken because he could not find a woman to go out with him. Kevin Simiyi was reportedly caught in the vile act by the hen’s horrified owner, and the fowl died shortly afterwards “from exhaustion.”
Simiyi, 18, told a shocked court he was too afraid to chat up women, and they did not fancy him, anyway, because he was poor. “I was caught defiling the hen by its owner,” he said. “I fear approaching women because of the high level of poverty and I feel women are very expensive. “Yes, I did it.”
The hen’s owner Judith Nasimiyu told the hearing the bird died of exhaustion last Friday as vets collected evidence against Simiyi. Simiyi pleaded guilty to bestiality and brazenly asked the court to be lenient because he was a first offender. But magistrate Stephen Mogute sentenced him to 15 months in Bungoma Prison.

Fake counsel for suspected thief arrested in court
34-year-old Olayomi Adegbite, who allegedly paraded himself as a lawyer, was arrested at a Lagos magistrate’s court in Ogba, while appearing as a counsel and applying for the bail of a defendant arraigned in court for stealing, Punchng reports.
As Adegbite made the bail application, a presiding magistrate of Court 5 where the defendant was arraigned observed flaws in his presentation.
The magistrate, Mrs. Temitope Oladele, who is on induction under Chief Magistrate O.J. Awope, was said to have invited him to her office for questioning upon which it was discovered that he was never called to the bar.
A lawyer at the court, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he had warned Adegbite on several occasions of the consequences of his action, but he refused. “He started coming to the court in December.
He would dress as a lawyer and walk around to assist defendants to perfect their bails. He was working with a lawyer. I approached him to stop parading himself as a lawyer, but he was furious with me.
On February 24, 2017, he appeared at Court 5 to hold brief for the lawyer in a case of stealing. When the magistrate noticed that he could not apply for the defendant’s bail, she summoned him to her chambers,” he said.
He was subsequently arrested by policemen from the Ikeja division and brought to Court 4 on Thursday by a police prosecutor, Sergeant Raphael Donny, on one count of impersonation.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. Davies Abegunde, consequently sentenced him to 100 hours of community service across magistrates’ courts in Lagos, except Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry magistrates’ courts.
The magistrate added that he should place placards with inscriptions, ‘I am a fake lawyer,’ on his front and back while cleaning the courts.

Face of the apprentice that was paid N60k to steal two of her boss' children
Tobiloba Adebiyi, the mother of a 3-year-old, Oluwasemilore, who was declared missing about a month ago, has narrated how her apprentice, Mary John, kidnapped and then sold the baby in Anambra State.
The child was rescued by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad. She said that Mary John’s real name was Gladys Austin, a mother of one from Cross River State.
She said that Austin, barely spent a week as her apprentice in Alagbado, Lagos State before she kidnapped and fled with her daughter. The police later discovered that Oluwasemilore was afterwards sold to four different buyers before she was rescued.
“After she was arrested in Badagry, she said she had been paid N60,000 for the job before coming to my house and she had planned to kidnap two of my children. But she couldn’t because I had said if she didn’t come with a guarantor by Monday, she should not come to work.
After she kidnapped Oluwasemilore, she left for Anambra by a bus the same day, and she sold her to an elderly woman, telling the woman that my daughter belonged to a prostitute who wanted to get rid of the girl.
The woman buys new babies and resells to families without children. The policemen asked her to call the woman that she had another child to sell. When she did, the woman asked her if it was a ‘trouser’ or ‘skirt’, which was a code name for a boy or girl. We decided to give her my son as bait.”
Oluwasemilore was resold to someone else in Awka, Anambra State who has also resold the child to another woman in the state. Tobiloba said all those who bought her daughter resold her because they were attacked by a strange illness.
“Those people said when the child got to them, they became sick and their business started failing. Within one month, my child had been sold to 4 different families. The 4th woman was wealthy and despite falling sick, she decided to keep her and enroll her in a new school. 4 suspects have arrested in connection with the kidnapping,” she said. Crdt: Punchng
