A
Russian man has been handed a driving fine - after a shadow of his car
crossed a road marking on the edge of a motorway in Russia.
Traffic cameras snapped images of the man's vehicle as it was driving along a ring road around Russia's capital, Moscow.
He
later received pictures and notification of a fine, saying he had
violated traffic regulations by crossing a solid white line marking the
edge of the carriageway. But on closer
inspection, he realised that cameras had picked up the shadow of his
vehicle and insisted his wheels had never left the lane.He is quoted by drive2.ru as saying: 'Cameras want us to pay fines even if car shadows violate traffic rules.'
The incident happened on August 25.
The unnamed man has submitted a complaint to Russian traffic police.
In his post on drive2, he told readers that he was still waiting for a response.
