President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in Edo state for the
grand finale of the governorship campaign of the All Progressives
Congress (APC).
This is the first governorship campaign of the party that Buhari would be attending since he came into office in May last year.
The president was not in Kogi and Bayelsa, the only states where governorship polls have held since 2015.
Reacting
to Buhari’s visit, Oshiomhole said: “Today is my happiest day. I am
standing here not as an orphan. For seven and half years, I was standing
alone. But today my brothers and our papa are here. Why should I not be
proud?”
There are a number of governors in attendance. Some of
them are: Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Bindo Jibrilla
(Adamawa), and Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna).
Others are Aminu Tambuwal
(Sokoto), Sani Bello (Niger), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Atiku Bagudu
(Kebbi), and Mohammed Baderu (Jigawa).
