TWO teenage
girls have been arrested after a bouncer who starred in the reality show
Tattoo Fixers was chased from a bar and stabbed to death in a car park.
Danny Fox, 29, was found with stab wounds to his neck in a car park
in St Helen’s, Merseyside with the women, both 18-years-old, now
arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
One of the women was released on police bail with the other still being questioned in police custody.
The young man had previously been featured on Tattoo Fixers, telling the show he wanted to get a crude tattoo covered up.
He said he had “lots of love to give”, saying he was “good boyfriend material.”
Describing himself, he said he could: “cook, clean, close to the
family. Love animals like going out but also like cosy nights in.
“Need this tattoo fixed because when I decide to settle down the girl I settle down with, obviously she wouldn’t like it.
“I’ve got a lot of love to give and I’ve got no one to give it to.”
The doorman was pronounced dead at hospital after the attack in the early hours of the morning.
Police believe Danny was involved in a verbal altercation outside Bar
44, Westfield Street, close to his place of work, before being chased
to North John Street.
Officers have been unable to confirm whether Danny was on duty as a bouncer at the time of his death.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “Detectives have launched a
murder investigation following the death of a man in St Helens in the
early hours of this morning, Friday 2 September.
“Emergency services were called to North John Street at around 3.20am to reports a man in his 20s had been injured.
“Police and ambulance attended and found the man with a knife wound to the neck.
“He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
“There was a verbal altercation outside Bar 44 on Westfield Street and the victim was then chased to North John Street.”
A post-mortem has since revealed that the bouncer died from a single stab wound to the upper torso.
Fox had previously appeared on the Tattoo Fixers, an E4 reality TV
show that helps members of the public to cover up old or embarrassing
tattoos that they regret.
The scene of the attack was cordoned off with police now investigating.
Police are also speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Danny is understood to have been a well-known employee of Dreem Bar
and the establishment has launched an appeal to raise money for his
grieving family.Posts on the bar’s Facebook page suggest that next weekend, from
September 10, door charges for entry to the bar will be put into this
fund.
A spokesman for Dreem Bar said: “It’s with great sadness we have lost one of the most adored and best door lads in town.
“He was like family to us – Dreem Bar staff are in utter disbelief.
“Danny wasn’t just a door lad he was part of the Dreem team and will be greatly missed.
“Sleep tight our blue eyes.”
