A former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA),
Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged as the governorship candidate of the
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.
The Chairman, Primary Election Committee of the party and governor of
Jigawa state, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, announced Mr Akeredolu as the
winner of the poll, which held amid tight security in Akure, the state
capital.
Mr Akeredolu polled 669 votes as against his closest rival, Olusegun
Abraham who polled 635 votes. While Former PDP candidate in the 2012
governorship election in the state, Mr Olusola Oke scored 576 votes to
emerge third.
A total of 24 aspirants contested the governorship ticket of the APC for the election scheduled to hold on November 26, 2016.
