Yobe State government has announced restriction of vehicular movement
from 6a.m. to 12p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 to ensure safety at Eid prayer
grounds.
This is contained in statement issued by Abdullahi Bego, Press Secretary to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam in Damaturu on Sunday.
He said the decision followed a security meeting held by heads of law enforcement agencies in the state.
“The six-hour restriction is placed as part of measures to ensure public safety as we mark the Eid on Monday.
“The
public is kindly advised that security agents across the State will not
allow any form of vehicular movement for the duration of the
restriction on Monday,” he said.
Vehicular movements had been restricted in the state during festivals since 2011 following security challenges.
