Victoria
Beckham has candidly spoken about falling in love at first sight with
husband David, her teenage insecurities and her many fashion choices
over the years.
The
world's most famous couple's love story has been avidly documented over
19 years although the former Spice Girl has now disclosed more details
after admitting she was drunk when she met and fell in love with her
football ace spouse.Victoria's incredibly candid letter appears
in a 'What I wish I’d known' feature in the fashion tome where she also
posed for a stunning, pared-back accompanying shoot, shot by
photographer Lachlan Bailey.
The story
of David and Victoria's beginnings are well known as he famously
revealed after seeing her in the video for the Spice Girls' 1996 hit Say
You'll Be There he declared: 'That’s the
girl for me and I'm going to get her!
She's my idea of perfection. I knew that if she wanted me, we would be together forever.'
Following
his announcement, the brunette beauty, then labelled Posh Spice, headed
to Manchester United to see the burgeoning young ace play - after which
she admitted she fell in love at first sight - feelings which she
admits were mutual.
In
the letter, addressed to herself, Victoria's advice on boyfriends and
lasting love read: 'Learn more about football, especially the offside
rule. And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in
the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little
drunk, so exact details are hazy.
In British Vogue's
October issue, Victoria, 42, penned a unique letter addressed to her
younger self in which she chronicled the start of her love story before
discussing her teenage insecurities including feeling 'plump' at 18.
