Parading the suspects, a resident who would not want his name published told newmen that “The robbers were terrorizing the rest of us on a daily basis and without inhibition.

“The rampaging hoodlums threw caution to the wind and operated in broad daylight.

“Two of the robbers were arrested. One later escaped, while the other was handed over to the Ogbaku Police Station.”

The man cried out that before the suspects were apprehended, “Most often, the robbers who were operating with locally made short guns, usually had a clean sweep of their victims’ homes.”

The villager noted that the armed robbers often finish and leave before the police arrive.

He said, “The truth is that the armed robbers were usually faster than the police. They operated and left before the police arrived.”
Also a 50-year-old woman, (name withheld) appealed to the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP, Taiwo Lakanu, to properly safeguard the community and save them from the heartless criminals.

She also called on the CP to properly interrogate the arrested suspects, while alleging that, “Some powerful individuals are meeting and perfecting ways of getting the suspects out of police net.”
