The police in Ogun have arrested a woman, Omolara Abosede for allegedly killing her fiancé, Sodiq Dauda, who she was engaged to marry in December. The suspect who stabbed the deceased with a knife, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, in Ijebu-Ode, said she did it in self-defense.
According to her, he was beating her and had broken a bottle to use on her before she grabbed the knife from the kitchen and stabbed him. Trouble was said to have started after the suspect didn’t render proper account of a gas business established by the man.
During interrogation, the woman said she was beaten up and sent packing, adding that she returned to the house on the instruction of her mother-in-law, who said she would come and settle the matter.
But immediately she got to the house, the suspect claimed that the deceased pounced on her without mercy and broke a bottle to stab her. “It was then I took a kitchen knife and stabbed him by the rib. Policemen took him to Ijebu-Ode General Hospital, where he died the next day,” she stated
