Fans of Ariana Grande and Mac Miller will remember the kiss they shared in the music video for The Way.
At the weekend, the singer and the rapper broke into a reprise.
On Tuesday, photos surfaced of them kissing Sunday night at Katsu-Ya in the Encino neighbourhood of Los Angeles, legitimising speculation they're a couple.
According to sources that spoke to TMZ, the 23-year-old spent a bit of the evening resting in her dinner companion's lap.
On the basis of all the laughing and touching that went on, the date appeared to have been a success.
Opting
for boho chic for her sushi outing, the Bang Bang singer swanked up her
black hoodie with a pair of pearl earrings and an elegant bun.
Meanwhile,
the 24-year-old paired his twilight blue polo shirt with a black
baseball cap, wrapping a heavily tattooed arm about her back as he went
in for the kiss.
The
Pittsburgher co-wrote and featured on The Way, which the Boca Raton
native recorded for her 2013 debut album Yours Truly. Even at that time,
rumours flew that they were dating, though the man born Malcolm
McCormick was quick to dispel them.
'That's the homey,' he told MTV that
April. 'She's got a boyfriend and everything. Obviously, that [kiss]
made everyone talk. I didn't even know that was going to happen and then
we were shooting and the director was like "This should happen" and I'm
like "Alright."'
The
'boyfriend' he referred to would have been Jai Brooks of the YouTube
comedy group the Janoskians, which originated in Melbourne. Their
on-and-off relationship ended mid-2013 and briefly spurted back into
being in 2014 before fizzling again.
