Passenger jet flying from Glasgow to Spain has to make an emergency landing in Manchester after a bird is sucked into the engine

A flight travelling to Mallorca has diverted to Manchester Airport after a bird was sucked into one of its engines.

The Thomas Cook Airlines flight TCX47MG departed from Glasgow at 6.17am and was due to arrive in Spain.
But the plane made an unscheduled landing at around 6.45am at Manchester Airport.
