Rihanna goes make-up free as she shows off her toned abs in a plunging bralet and leggings in NYC

She's known for her jaw dropping stage presence.

But Rihanna proved once again she is just as capable of stunning her fans during a casual jaunt on the street.

 The 28-year-old took a breather at home in New York City from her Anti tour on Thursday as she prepares to be honoured at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Her hair pulled up into a severe bun, the Barbadian bombshell augmented her black crop top with a gleaming necklace that emphasised her bulging décolletage.

Black trousers artfully framed her svelte legs and ample derrière, matching her black trainers. 

A black and white checked handbag accessorised the ensemble, working with her solitaire earrings to add a splash of chic as she approached her Cadillac Escalade.

Her Anti Tour, named after her 2016 eighth studio album, has done nothing if not lived up to the 28-year-old's reputation for drama, particularly as her festival bookings rolled around.

During her engagement at the Pukkelpop Festival in Hasselt-Kiewit last Thursday, on a lineup that included Big Sean, concertgoers grew incensed when the Umbrella singer arrived nearly an hour late.

Once she finally took the stage, the 66,000-strong audience began booing. Several left before her set ended and opted to go see DJ Snake's performance instead.
