Maybe their romance wasn’t so bad after all. Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga “have been talking,” a source close to the Chicago Fire actor reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Taylor
really hopes they’ll get back together.” (The pair ended their 17-month
engagement in July, citing distance and conflicting work schedules.)
Though
Gaga’s assistants recently moved her belongings out of Kinney’s Chicago
apartment, a pal says it’s more telling that the “Poker Face” singer,
30, has held on to her heart-shaped 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz
engagement ring.
“There is absolutely
still a chance they can get back together,” says the source, noting
that, in the meantime, Gaga is focusing on recording her upcoming sixth
album, while Kinney, 35, films his NBC drama (returning October 11).
“She still feels terrible and hopes it can work out.”
"Taylor and I have always
believed we are soul mates," she wrote in a July 20 Instagram post.
"Just like all couples, we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a
break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through
long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we
have always shared."
She ended the caption with a plea
for fan support: “Please root us on. We're just like everybody else, and
we really love each other.”
As Us
previously reported, their loved ones are already pulling for a
reconciliation. “Both of their families are upset," an insider told Us
of the couple, who started dating in 2011 and then got engaged on
Valentine's Day 2015. "And his costars tell him that they miss her.
Everyone is hoping they get back together."
