My experience might not be the most
horrifying or thrilling ghost story of all time but it actually
happened. I’m from Yangon, Myanmar. In my city, there is a shopping mall
called, ‘Junction Square’ which is built on an old cemetery ground.
I’ve heard about ghost sightings in that mall; for instance when a ghost
film is on mall’s theatre, people might experience ghost sightings in
the toilet or even during the film! I’m not a non-believer but I didn’t
take that seriously. It was of course until me and my sister experienced
it ourselves.
I don’t remember the date accurately but
I’m sure it’s in the morning at about 10am. There ain’t much people in
the mall usually at that time. We went into the toilet on third floor.
There was nobody beside us. I was in a W/C and my sister was outside
fixing her make-up. While I was in the bathroom, I heard someone coming
into the W/C beside mine. I even saw a shadow walking into it and then I
heard some flushing and scratching but I didn’t care cause I thought
someone was in there. Then I came out and noticed my sister looking a
bit upset. I wanted to check myself out but she dragged me out of the
toilet. When we got outside, she told me that she heard flushing noises
but saw nobody come in. That’s when I told her about the shadow but she
swore she saw nobody going inside the bathroom next to mine. We got so
much chills all over the place that day.
But that is not the end. After a couple
of days, we went shopping with our Mom and went into the toilet in the
third floor again (we should have learned the first time). While we both
were in W/Cs, a blackout happened. Of course, we were so freaked out,
we just got ourselves spooked the other day! It was for like 30 seconds.
After the power was back on, I came out of the W/C and noticed the
money I have put in my pants’s pocket earlier was missing. My sister
came out and found out hers was missing too. Weird! Ok, maybe it’s
possible that the money fell out but I am pretty sure it was there
before the blackout and really? Both of us?!
The last experience wasn’t much of an
experience. It just something we found super strange. It’s again related
to that toilet. After sometime we visited the mall again and we were
about to enter that spooky toilet. That’s when we saw two black
butterflies flying near the toilet. It’s said that some white and black
butterflies are actually souls or ghosts of people who died, right? And
most importantly, the place we found them was not geographically or
habitable for butterflies to be seen. I mean, on the third floor of an
air-contained shopping mall which is built in the middle of the city
with no trees around and there didn’t seem to be a single flower shop or
anything that look like a plant nearby? That doesn’t make sense in
anyway.
Therefore, after that butterfly
incident, we just decided not into go into that toilet ever. And to
those who live in Myanmar or plan to visit Myannar, the toilet on the
third floor of Junction Square Shopping Mall is haunted!
